Data breach notification concerning a cyberattack on Vahanen Group

On July 4, Vahanen Group detected an IT network anomaly. An immediate investigation identified it as an advanced and new type of criminal ransomware attack. This means that data has been encrypted and is not currently accessible.

A crisis team in Vahanen has been mobilized and together with cyber security specialists, we are investigating the full extent and consequences of the incident. The attack on Vahanen is part of a wider series of simultaneous attacks on companies in Europe.

The full extent and the consequences of the cyberattack are not yet fully known. There is a risk that current and former employee, client project and partner information and personal data, such as business contact details as well as employee personal data, have been encrypted and/or stolen. The cyberattack will have a significant impact on Vahanen’s ability to deliver on projects and delays are expected.

We are deeply sorry about the inconvenience this cyberattack will cause you and we are doing our utmost to minimize its consequences. We are working together with cyber security and data protection authorities as well as the Police to investigate the incident.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us at We are prepared to answer questions and will communicate regularly.

We are now focusing our efforts on minimizing the impacts of the attack and normalizing our project work as soon as possible.
